Todd Beane founded TOVO Academy Barcelona to develop a new generation of intelligent players and capable coaches. His passion has always been and continues to be holistic development and learner-centered coaching.
Todd Beane began working with Johan Cruyff in 2002. His first task was to build the internationally recognized Cruyff Institute for Sport Studies dedicated to educating athletes worldwide.
As a coach and educator, he understands well the importance of talent development and the challenges of nurturing intelligent and responsible athletes. His expertise in applied learning methodology and talent development is interwoven with a clear football vision to produce a pedagogical sound training program. He has travelled the world presenting on Total Athlete Development and Talent Training.
Todd earned a B.A. from Dartmouth College and a Master in Education from Stanford University. He was also awarded a Rotary Scholarship for a post-graduate study at the University of Sussex in England.
He has played collegiate and professional soccer in the United States and served as a coach at the academy, university, and professional levels earning at the time his “A” License from the United States Soccer Federation.
He has consulted and provided training for elite athletes and coaches at such clubs as FC Barcelona, Ajax Amsterdam, Melbourne City FC, Chivas Guadalajara, Mamelodi Sundowns South Africa and the Austrian Football Federation.
Todd lives just south of Barcelona, Spain where you can find him with his wife, Chantal and their six children. They enjoy a wonderful family life spending time between the shore of the Mediterranean and the mountains of Lake Tahoe. Needless to say, they are multi-sport enthusiasts for all seasons.
