Clubs Winning Culture: Richmond Strikers and their Tryout Process

The Clubs Winning Culture series highlights clubs doing the exceptional when it comes to unique programming that impacts club culture.

We hear so often how stressful the Youth Soccer Tryout process is for parents, coaches and players.  The Richmond Strikers this year put in place some new processes that greatly reduced stress for everyone while also ensuring the highest likelihood players were placed on appropriate teams.

This is the club where I work as a part-time coach and I was so proud of how smooth our tryout process went this year.  Key to that happening was communicating with parents and players many weeks prior to tryouts with feedback on where we saw them being placed the following year. Check out my interview with Will Bates from the Richmond Strikers and if you are curious, the emails and processes he mentions are included below the interview.
