A big thank you to Philadelphia Union's Phil Wheddon for joining us for this special interview for Goalkeeper Week. The focus of the conversation was to provide parents and coaches insight when developing the goalkeepers of tomorrow. Phil is the Goalkeeping Director with MLS side Philadelphia Union, alongside being a long-time coach with the US National Teams for 20 years. Phil is also the Director of GK ONE.
Phil helped the USWNT to a third-place finish in the 2003 and 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup, alongside Gold Medals in the 2004 Athens Olympics and the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Phil was also Goalkeeper Coach for the USMNT during the 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup and 2006 FIFA World Cup. Phil has trained some of the country's greatest goalkeepers - from Hope Solo and Brianna Scurry, to Tim Howard and Kasey Keller.
