The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing initiatives to drive business growth and enhance brand visibility. They must possess keen knowledge and specific experience in digital marketing such as product/course launches, email marketing, social media engagement and SEO. The CMO will play a critical role in shaping our marketing strategy, driving customer acquisition and retention, and ensuring effective communication of the brand message to the target audience.
Soccer Parenting and The Sideline Project aim to make youth sports better by fostering collaborative relationships between coaches, clubs, parents, and players. We believe parents will be “difference makers” when it comes to improving youth sports, and we work daily to educate and support parents and coaches to maximize player inspiration.
We have hundreds of partners across youth clubs, state associations, leagues, and organizations. Our partners seek to better support parents by providing them access to our education and community to ensure their child is inspired by their sports experience. Additionally, coaches have access to education related to relationship building, trust, collaboration, and more.

The Chief Marketing Officer is responsible for:
- Marketing Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the overall business objectives, market trends, and customer insights. Define marketing goals, identify target segments, and determine key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of marketing initiatives.
- Brand Management: Establish and maintain a strong brand identity and positioning in the market. Develop brand guidelines, oversee brand messaging and consistency across all marketing channels, and ensure brand integrity is maintained in all marketing collateral.
- Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs, preferences, and market trends. Monitor competitor activities, industry developments, and emerging market opportunities. Use market insights to guide marketing strategies and drive innovation.
- Customer Acquisition and Retention: Drive customer acquisition efforts by developing and implementing effective marketing campaigns across various channels such as digital marketing, advertising, social media, content marketing, and events. Focus on lead generation, launch strategies, customer conversion, and optimizing the customer journey. Develop strategies to enhance customer retention and foster long-term customer relationships.
- Marketing Communications: Develop and oversee the execution of marketing communication plans to effectively reach the target audience. Ensure consistent messaging across all marketing channels and touchpoints. Manage public relations, media relations, and external communications to enhance brand reputation and awareness.
- Digital Marketing and Analytics: Oversee digital marketing initiatives, including product/course launches, website management, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), email marketing, social media, and online advertising. Leverage data analytics and marketing automation tools to track and analyze campaign performance, measure ROI, and optimize marketing efforts.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead a high-performing marketing team. Provide guidance, mentoring, and coaching to team members. Foster a collaborative and innovative marketing culture. Set clear goals, monitor performance, and ensure the team's alignment with business objectives.
The Chief Marketing Officer must possess these skills:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field
- Deep understanding of digital-specific marketing principles, strategies, and best practices across various channels.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking mindset with the ability to leverage data for decision-making and campaign optimization.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing effective digital marketing strategies such as course launches and email marketing that drive business growth.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the latest marketing trends, technologies, and industry best practices.
- High emotional intelligence including self and social awareness, plus optimism.
- Ability to self-manage and lead a diverse team.
- Strong background in the youth game and understanding of the youth soccer landscape a plus.
Hours: 20-25 hours/week. Hours are flexible however you must have the ability to work during normal business hours. This position can be a full time position for an exceptionally qualified candidate with significant digital marketing experience.
Location: This is a remote position, based in the United States.
Salary: $30/hour
